14 Hollow Road

Hi!
Do you have a fear of tornadoes?  Imagine your house not standing up and everything is scattered all around your yard.  You can almost salvage nothing from it. Well that is what happens to Maddie in this book, 14 Hollow Road.

Before the sixth grade dance Maddie had to feed her dog Hank, but... he didn't come when she called.  She felt like it was all her fault that Hank did not come when called.

At the dance Maddie found out a tornado went right over her house!  It was completely destroyed and not standing at all. Also, she  has to live with a neighbor and in a room next to a boy she likes! She felt nervous. 

Later, in the summer she thinks she will lose her friend, Kristin.  Kristin spends more time with a new girl, Gabriella.

This book made me feel sad that everything she had was destroyed. It is hard for me imagine all of my books, clothes, and stuffed animals, and warm bed gone. As for Maddie's friendship, I understand her feelings but I know that you can have more than one friend.
